Buma Awards @ BMIM 2018: Here are the nominees!

Here are the nominees for the Buma Awards categories Best Sync, Best Original Composition in Documentary, Short Film and Telefilm, Best Original Composition in Trailer (for Film, TV, Gaming) and the Buma Music in Motion New Talent Award. The judges watched everything that was sent and were impressed by the high general standard which made choosing these nominees a genuine challenge. Congratulations to everyone who sent in work, it has been a vintage year.

  • Johannes Bouwens, Jan Gerbrand Visser for Lidl Brown Bag (Veronica-Music Editions BV / EMI Music Publishing Holland BV)
  • Producer Onderkoffer (Enzio Latumaelissa) for the Dance Battle scene in the film Girls Trip from Universal Pictures (MusicAllStars Publishing)

Buma Music in Motion New Talent Award

  • Composer Hans Nieuwenhuijsen (28 years, Conservatorium van Amsterdam) with his score for the short film Catastrophe
  • Composer Arend Bruijn (27 years, Conservatorium van Amsterdam) with his score for the short film Ik Kan Vliegen
  • Sound Designer Mert Gencer (29 years, HKU Master of Music - Music Design) for Dress


On May 22nd we will announce the winner during the BMIM Trade Diner in New York Film Academy Café.
