BMIM Presents: An Afternoon with House of Cards Composer Jeff Beal

Netflix, cleverly timing the announcement to coincide with President Donald Trump’s inauguration, will be releasing the latest season of political drama House of Cards in full on Tuesday May 30. And, by way of an 'avant-goût' of the forthcoming season, we are thrilled to announce an exclusive afternoon with series composer Jeff ‘House of Cards’ Beal in TivoliVredenburg on April 23rd.

Beal is an American composer of music for film who is best known for his astonishing and highly emotive music for House of Cards. You probably know every sobering trumpet note and each twinkle of a key by heart — not least because it's one of the most astounding and pertinent soundtracks of the last few years, featuring highly contextual music that truly sticks in the memory. This Netflix original series has already won over twenty awards including six Emmys, one of which was the "Outstanding Musical Composition for a Series" award. The show has also picked up two Golden Globes.

During this 'Buma Music in Motion Presents' event, Beal will be talking about how he composed the music for this Netflix drama, as well as discussing his other soundtrack work. Tickets priced at €7,50 are on sale now, and entrance is free if you already have a Buma Music in Motion 2017 pass. To obtain the BMIM 2017 pass, please register here: After the Q&A, House of Cards in Concert takes place in the evening. It's a live-to-screen show, performed with an orchestra and a video montage of scenes from the series projected above the stage with Beal conducting. This is a rare opportunity to experience the full impact of this exemplary and dramatic score - tickets for this show (€33) are on sale now at TivoliVredenburg.
