EA Games' president of music is first announced speaker

With the confirmation that Steve Schnur is one of BMIM's keynote speakers, Buma Music in Motion is offering a glimpse of the quality of the program for this year's event. The largest conference on music in film, games, advertising and television will take place this year on the 21st and 22nd of May 2019 in the Tolhuistuin, Amsterdam. Schnur is Worldwide President of Music for Electronic Arts (EA Games), the largest game producer in the world, known for its FiFA, Rockband and The Sims games.

At the age of seven Schnur began studying guitar, piano, composition, production and arrangement at Carnegie Hall, and in his teens played piano in various pop, rock and jazz bands. Following that he carved out a career in the music industry as a music supervisor, A & R manager, a producer and label owner. He has worked at EA Games since 2001 and is responsible for creating and developing the company's global vision on the use of music in games; he is also responsible for kick-starting the careers of, among others, Katy Perry, Imagine Dragons, Kings of Leon, Robyn and Bruno Mars.

The ninth edition of BMIM offers an extensive program with workshops, networking sessions and keynotes, all of which take place on May 22nd. The evening before, on May 21, the Buma Awards ceremony takes place during over a relaxed dinner and drinks. Tickets for Buma Music in Motion and the presentation of the Buma Awards are now available via our Tickets page. Newly confirmed speakers will be announced very shortly.
