Netflix: A World of Musical Possibilities

With shows like Stranger Things and La Casa de Papel relying heavily on music syncs, a new realm of global opportunity (and money) has opened up to recording artists: there is a surge in demand once the series is released on a streaming service.

Streaming services have given the international music scene a boost by setting up in-house music teams, which form the link between the streaming service and the artist. This creates many new licensing options.

In this panel, we’ll discuss the role of music teams in the streaming industry with Netflix’s post production coordinators Anjo Kantelberg, Brian Beard and La Casa de Papel’s music supervisor Juanto Tello. What are opportunities and challenges, both for streaming services and artists?
