We teamed up with Dekmantel, EYE Filmmuseum and RE:VIVE for an amazing panel on 4 August. In this panel we dive into the personal, artistic and professional ambitions of three musicians at different stages of the film scoring journey.
More and more producers and experimental composers are being tapped to compose for some of the biggest and most successful films and TV series; Oneohtrix Point Never (Uncut Gems), Mica Levi (Jackie), Bobby Krlic (Midsommar) and many more. Over the years, RE:VIVE and Dekmantel have collaborated to provide local musicians interested in composing for moving image the opportunity to experiment by inviting them to compose for Dutch archival films.
This year, however, as part of a panel discussion presented together with Buma Music in Motion and Eye Filmmuseum, RE:VIVE and Dekmantel dive deeper into the personal, artistic and professional ambitions of three musicians at different stages of the film scoring journey: Aisling Brouwer, Alberta Balsam and Nadia Struiwigh. What inspires them to compose for film? What are the creative challenges as opposed to making club or electronic music? How are they positioning themselves within the industry and more.
Entrance is free but capacity is limited, so come early.
